I thought it would be interesting for you to see an example of one of John's‪#‎painting‬ ALMOND TIME in progress.

1 ) The main elements of the composition are sketched in with thin paint over a warm background colour. 2 ) Sky and background are quickly painted in together with cooler tones in the foreground. 3 ) Texture in the buildings is next with approximate grass tones front and back. The paint is getting thicker with each stage. 4 ) Grass tones modified and leaves and Almond blossom added. Final details are painted on to the road and buildings.
