Chromesthesia is a form of synaesthesia - where people with the condition involuntarily associate letters and numbers with colours. Chromesthesia takes this a stage further to link sounds with colours and is the basis for this painting.
 
O SACRUM CONVIVIUM

A beautiful four-part a capella liturgical motet composed by Messiaen in 1937. My favourite performance of this work is sung by the Estonian choir Vox Clamantis in the St. Nicolas Church, Tallin. The high descending alleluia towards the end of the piece is particularly beautiful.
